El documental sobre el miembro fundador del movimiento de Curas Villeros. Será el 11 de junio con una función única, presentada por León Gieco y el Padre Pepe entre otros. Por Nito Marsiglio.

“Padre Mugica, la hora de la luz”, es el filme documental basado en la historia de vida del Padre Carlos Mugica, quien fue acribillado, hace 50 años, al salir de misa.

Un relato histórico con los testimonios de quienes lo conocieron en su vida de estudiante, sacerdote, deportista, amigo, párroco y figura pública y la participación de Víctor Laplace, Marilina Ross, Fernando “Pato” Galmarini, Domingo Bresci, León Gieco, Ricardo Capelli, Mamerto Menapace, y el Padre Pepe entre otros

Este documental de Walter Peña y Nicolás Cuiñas, relata como Mugica se aleja de sus orígenes aristocráticos para acercarse al pueblo más vulnerable y destacarse como miembro fundador del grupo de Sacerdotes para el Tercer Mundo, fundando la capilla Cristo Obrero en la villa de Retiro, hoy Barrio Mugica, donde desarrolló su tarea pastoral dejando marcas indelebles.

“Padre Mugica, la hora de la luz” tendrá su estreno en cines este Martes 11 de junio con una función única y la presencia de Víctor Laplace, León Gieco, Marilina Ross y el Padre Pepe entre otras personalidades.

BIO PADRE MUGICA:  Carlos Francisco Sergio Mugica Echagüe, más conocido como el Padre Mugica, fue un sacerdote argentino miembro fundador del Movimiento de Sacerdotes para el Tercer Mundo y del movimiento de Curas villeros, así como partícipe de las luchas populares de la Argentina de las décadas de 1960 y 1970. El apostolado de Mugica se caracterizó por su «opción preferencial por los pobres», principio fundamental de la Teología del pueblo y su adhesión al peronismo. La mayor parte de su labor comunitaria tuvo lugar en la Villa 31 de Retiro -que actualmente lleva su nombre-, en Buenos Aires, donde fundó la parroquia Cristo Obrero. Fue asesinado después de celebrar misa en la iglesia de San Francisco Solano, en Villa Luro.
