El vive con su hermana en un edificio grande, viejo y precario con un vecindario donde todos se conocen y forman una pequeña comunidad.
Kaleb sobrevive vendiendo zapatillas, de dudosa procedencia, entre otras cosas y su vecindario es su principal clientela.
Con su hermana llevan una relación algo tensa a partir de la reciente muerte de su madre.
Kaleb decide comprarle una araña a su dealer de cosas extrañas y es ahí, a partir que esta logra escaparse de la caja donde la había confinado, donde comienza el nudo de una película que posee una tensión que va in crescendo y luego se mantiene hasta el final en un nivel muy alto que deja al espectador al borde del agotamiento.
Es el estilo del film que hace varias décadas que no se hace pero que Vanicek trae nuevamente a las salas y se puede comprobar que funciona maravillosamente.
Vale resaltar la actuación de su principal reparto Théo Christine, Sofia Lesaffre y Jérôme Niel, el guion realizado por Florent Bernard y el mismo Sébastien Vanicek y el manejo de sonido, magníficamente logrado, que ayuda mucho a la tensión que la obra transmite.
La Plaga Vermin es sin duda una película que si extrañabas el terror no dejes de verla.
