Maquinitas, la sección de videojuegos del mercado Ventana Sur –organizado anualmente en Buenos Aires por el Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA) y el Marché du Film– , ha constituido un espacio en el marco de Fantastic Pavilion, un importante stand y espacio de exhibición del Marché du Film dedicado a la industria de cine de género del mundo. La presencia del stand tiene como objetivo generar un espacio de colaboración mutua entre la industria del videojuego y la cinematográfica, promocionando la creatividad, la producción y articulando sus potencialidades e intereses. Además, ofrece un showroom donde se presentan los videojuegos latinoamericanos Broken Reality, Dark Tales y México 1921 A Deep Slumber (México); Project R y Tormented Souls (Chile); y Tenebris Somnia y Atuel (Argentina). La oferta se completa con juegos realizados por estudiantes de la Cnam-Enjmin de Francia, paneles, clases magistrales y workshops.
En palabras de Daniel de La Vega, Director Ejecutivo de Maquinitas, “Los juegos comparten universos y narrativas con el cine de género. En ellos, el público trasciende el papel de espectador único para vivir la fantasía de forma no lineal. Ambas industrias tienen un enorme potencial de colaboración y por ello su presencia y participación en el Pabellón Fantástico es fundamental”.
Tenebris Somnia, que espera su lanzamiento oficial en el transcurso de este año, es un videojuego creado por el cineasta Andrés Borghi –director de cine independiente vinculado al género de terror– y el diseñador y artista gráfico Tobías Rusjan. Se trata de una aventura gráfica con un estilo visual que se acerca al pixel art pero alternando con escenas live-action. Este año ganó uno de los MegaGrants de EPIC Games.
Por su lado, Atuel, desarrollado por la Cooperativa Matafuegos, es una propuesta vinculada al documental ambientalista que ofrece una experiencia audiovisual sobre el cambio climático en el Valle del Río Atuel. Fue finalista del premio Most Amazing Game Award en el Festival de Juegos Artísticos de Berlín, estuvo nominado a Mejor Animación Iberoamericana de Videojuego en Premios Quirino 2023, y el año pasado obtuvo el premio a Mejor Idea Original en la Exposición de Videojuegos Argentina (EVA), además de haber estado nominado en la categoría Mejor Narrativa.
