Edgardo Cozarinsky, el hombre que hizo de la vida un escenario de múltiples actos, ha dejado este mundo. Por Nito Marsiglio.

A sus 85 años, el escritor, cineasta, dramaturgo y actor argentino cerró el telón definitivo, dejando una estela de obras que resplandecen en la memoria cultural de su país. 

Cozarinsky fue autor de más de veinte títulos que se convirtieron en pilares de la narrativa contemporánea. Obras como “La novia de Odessa”, “Lejos de dónde” y “Dinero para fantasmas” no solo demostraron su talento literario, sino también su capacidad para explorar las profundidades de la condición humana. Su habilidad para transitar entre la prosa y el cine, y para dominar todos los géneros que abordó, lo convirtió en un artista de muchos lenguajes.

Nacido en Buenos Aires en 1939, Cozarinsky encontró en París un refugio creativo durante las décadas más oscuras de la Argentina. Fue allí donde vivió gran parte de su vida, desde 1974 hasta 1989, estableciéndose como una figura clave en la televisión cultural europea y en el cine de autor. Sin embargo, tras el regreso de la democracia en Argentina, volvió a su ciudad natal, esa Buenos Aires que siempre habitó en su sensibilidad, para continuar su obra con renovada pasión.

A finales de los años 90, un diagnóstico de cáncer cambió su vida. En París, mientras enfrentaba la cercanía de la muerte, encontró en la escritura una nueva razón de ser. Así, comenzó a publicar uno o dos libros por año, explorando géneros que desafiaban las categorizaciones convencionales. Su estilo único, una mezcla de recuerdo, elegancia, erudición, ironía y modestia, se convirtió en su sello distintivo. Su obra “El relato indefendible” y “El museo del chisme” teorizan sobre la circulación del saber encapsulado en el chisme, un enfoque que revela su profunda comprensión de las narrativas humanas.

Cozarinsky no solo fue un maestro de la ficción, sino también un fervoroso defensor de la cultura y el arte. Como colaborador de la revista Sur, dirigida por Victoria Ocampo, ejerció con brillantez la crítica de cine, dejando una marca indeleble en la cultura argentina. Su documental “Carta a un padre” es un emotivo homenaje a su padre, el primer militar judío de la Marina argentina, y un reflejo de su conexión con sus raíces.
