El Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata, organizado por el Ministerio de Cultura de la Nación y el Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA) —con el apoyo del Banco de la Nación Argentina— realizó hoy la ceremonia de clausura y la entrega de los premios oficiales de su 38ª edición. Kinra, dirigida por el peruano Marco Panatonic, ganó el Premio Astor Piazzolla a la Mejor Película de la Competencia Internacional, en la edición que conmemora los 40 años ininterrumpidos de democracia en nuestro país.
El evento —que se realizó en la sala Astor Piazzolla del Teatro Auditorium— contó con la presencia del jefe de Asesores del Gobernador de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Carlos Bianco; el presidente del INCAA, Nicolás Batlle; las autoridades del Festival, Fernando Juan Lima (presidente), Cecilia Diez (productora general) y Pablo Conde (director artístico); el vicepresidente del Instituto Cultural de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Gianni Buono, la subsecretaria de Políticas Culturales de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Victoria Onetto, la presidenta del Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Diana Saiegh y la reconocida actriz Graciela Borges; entre otras autoridades, miembros de embajadas, institutos culturales, asociaciones audiovisuales, patrocinadores y representantes de las diferentes ramas de la industria audiovisual.
En tanto que el presidente del Festival, Fernando Juan Lima, y su director artístico, Pablo Conde, expresaron que “lo que sucedió en cada una de las salas de esta edición, de alegría compartida y ovación, demuestra que el cine sigue estando vivo. Este Festival no solo tuvo las salas llenas, sino que el público se lo apropió, tomó en serio su rol, con interesantes intercambios con los diferentes artistas, y eso se nota también en los testimonios de los cineastas, que nos cuentan que en Mar del Plata, como en ningún otro festival, los interpelan muy acertadamente sobre sus obras”.
En la entrega de premios oficiales, el jurado de la Competencia Internacional, compuesto por Mimi Plauché, Prano Bailey-Bond, Charles Tesson, Celina Murga y Tana Schémbori, eligió a Kinra, de Marco Panatonic, “por la forma en la que cuenta una fuerte historia a través de una potente puesta en escena que permite observar la humanidad de los personajes. Un verdadero descubrimiento”.
Al recibir el máximo premio del Festival, Panatonic dijo estar muy contento de recibir este premio porque “poder terminar esta película ya era un logro en sí. Me llevó diez años realizarla, y no podría haber sido posible sin los sentimientos que compartieron en ella las personas que participaron. Hacer cine en Perú no es fácil, hay un fascismo que no nos permite filmar como nosotros quisiéramos, por lo que este premio nos ayuda a defender al cine nacional, que pueda llegar a estos festivales, que podamos mostrar en la pantalla las historias que nos reflejan”.
