Una nueva edición del Festival de La Mujer y el Cine llega en mayo para mostrar una vez más, una selección de películas realizadas por mujeres. Del 2 al 5, y con entrada libre y gratuita, las películas que componen el festival podrán verse en los cines del Museo Malba, el Cultural San Martín y el CCK. Por Nito Marsiglio.

Con panorama de largometrajes nacionales e internacionales, cortos en competencia, videominutos,  charlas y talleres.

Esta año, España es el país invitado con cuatro estrenos de películas premiadas en festivales internacionales de directoras consagradas como Isabel Coixet, y nóveles como Liz Lobato quien estará presente durante el Festival.  

La película de apertura es el pre estreno de una directora con una amplia trayectoria, Maria Victoria Menis presentará  “Miranda, de Viernes a Lunes”, protagonizada por Inés Estévez.

Otro de los títulos destacados que podrán verse en esta edición es la película española “O Corno”, ganadora de la Concha de Oro del Festival de San Sebastián, y coproducciones argentinas que están teniendo un gran recorrido en Festivales como “Reas”, de Lola Arias y “Naufragios”, de Vanina Spataro.

Esta es la edición N° 36, realizada con todo el esfuerzo, la energía y el amor de siempre, los invitamos a disfrutar cuatro días de muy buen cine en tiempos adversos donde la cultura debe estar presente para apoyar a nuestras directoras y productoras a difundir sus películas.

La Mujer y el Cine nació en abril de 1988, durante el primer Festival Internacional de Cine Realizado por Mujeres en Mar del Plata.

Fue el resultado de un intenso proceso de trabajo de mujeres comprometidas con la cultura en general y el cine en particular, guiadas por la convicción de luchar por el lugar de las mujeres en la realización cinematográfica, un universo hasta entonces casi exclusivamente masculino.

La agrupación fue creada para impulsar la difusión y la promoción del cine realizado por mujeres y, muy especialmente, para generar acciones de estímulo a la participación femenina. Desde 1988 sostienen el Festival para que las cineastas tengan un lugar dónde mostrar y difundir sus películas, cortos, largos, documentales.
