10cortos10 es un ciclo de diez de los mejores cortometrajes argentinos realizados en tiempos recientes. Producida y programada por lxs periodistas y cineastas Cynthia Sabat y Paulo Pécora, esta séptima edición de la muestra ofrecerá en el Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo, algunas de las expresiones locales más acabadas dentro del formato de películas de duración breve. La cita es el Jueves 30 de noviembre a las 19hs, con entrada libre y gratuita en Avenida Triunvirato 4444, CABA. Por Nito Marsiglio.
PROGRAMA 1 (71 minutos)
1- Los eucaliptos, de Ignacio Ragone y Nicolás Suárez (2023, 19 minutos).
Una home-movie en las ruinas de la modernidad. Los eucaliptus es un flujo de conciencia arborescente que bucea en la historia de la arquitectura moderna, el cine, el tarot y un par de cosas más. Es también una búsqueda del tesoro lo-fi que se regodea en uno de los misterios cinematográficos más elementales: la emoción de descubrir un secreto.

2- El aire llega cargado de similitudes, de Nicolás Carol. (2022, 3:30 minutos)
El archivo colectivo de memoria digital no tiene destino de ser materializado. Qué recuerdos tendremos si ese mundo se apaga de pronto.

Nicolás Carol estudió Expresión Fotográfica en la Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM) y Diseño de Imagen y Sonido en la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), donde actualmente es docente. Cursó seminarios y talleres de estética, ensayo fotográfico e Historias alternativas de la imagen y el sonido. Codirigió el corto documental “El Niño invisible” (2016) . Está desarrollando ‘A dónde volver’, su primer largometraje documental.
3- La mutuante, de Carla Scolari y Javier Rossanigo (2022, 16 minutos).
Noelia, una joven madre con su hijo de un año y medio, quedan fuera de su habitación de pensión por una deuda con el dueño. No teniendo recursos decide ir a buscar ayuda con su madre y su amigo Renzo, quienes no pueden ayudarla. Antes de que termine el día, sin mucho más recursos, decide recurrir a una financiera que le da una solución rápida pero con un trato usurero. Con ese dinero logra pasar la noche bajo techo con una cierta tranquilidad hasta que las necesidades económicas vuelvan a apremiarla.

Una niña Mapuche, en una playa solitaria, establece un singular vínculo con el mar que le regala una piedra mágica. Cada petición que ella le haga, se cumplirá, incluso la más valiosa.

5- Acordate de darme un beso al despertar, de Estefanía Clotti (2021, 24 minutos)
Durante quince años, viviendo en la misma casa, con mi mamá y mis hermanas nos escribíamos cartas. En este ensayo animado las palabras de aquella cotidianidad dialogan con imágenes del cotidiano actual, intervenidas para explorar los vínculos afectivos entre las mujeres de mi familia.

Formó parte de las muestras colectivas “16 corazones solitarios” (2018), “El dibujo como casa” (2018-19) e “Intervenciones Urbanas” (2018-19). Graduada de la EPCTV y de la Escuela para Animadores de Santa Fe. Es docente de “Animación experimental”.

Comienza un audio de whatsapp y, con él, se desarrolla una espiral descendente. La voz de una mujer que se hunde en un ataque de ansiedad por la salud enreda rápidamente un complejo laberinto de miedos y emociones. The Spiral es una inmersión en un viaje solitario, una escalada hipnótica hacia la infancia, la familia y la soledad del “hogar”. ¿El hogar realmente se siente como en casa?

Premiada por la Asociación Española de Autores de Fotografía Cinematográfica AEC y el Premio Coral en La Habana con “Silvia”, su primer largo. Fue seleccionada en IDFA Summer School, IDF Academy e IDFA Project Space con su proyecto “Mailin”. Su cortometraje “Criatura” (2021) ganó el Pardino de Oro en el Festival de Locarno.
2- El trueno, de Isabel Titiro (2023, 4 minutos).
Cortometraje animado basado en un poema de Juan Martín Fernández de Miranda. Inspirado por “El trueno entre las hojas” de Armando Bo con Isabel Sarli, es un recorrido sonoro y visual por una selva imaginaria en donde se cruzan personajes y visiones.

Isabel Titiro es estudiante en la FADU, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Su curiosidad por todos los medios visuales la llevó a estudiar fotografía analógica, cine en Super 8, técnicas alternativas de copiado, dibujo y pintura.
3- Mein Buch, de Max Mirelmann (2023, 21 minutos).
Relato de una familia a través del siglo XX. Armado con material de archivo familiar y acompañado por un diálogo imaginario entre dos personajes: uno de ellos deja Suiza en 1921 para radicarse en Sudamérica. A través de esta conversación en off, se va tejiendo una trama que finalmente revela quiénes son los personajes, y la particular historia que los une. Abandonar la tierra natal, un diario íntimo, viajes a Oriente, libros, un teatro que se incendia, el autoexilio.

Cursó estudios en la Universidad del Cine y Universidad de California en Los Ángeles. Entre sus trabajos se destaca “De cúpulas, desencuentros y algunas cosas más” (1994).
4- Lick Fire, de Jeff Zorrilla (2023, 6:20 minutos)
A través de reflexiones personales, Lick Fire explora las alegrías y luchas que surgen del vasto reino de la imaginación, al tiempo que reflexiona sobre las futuras implicaciones de la inteligencia artificial en dar vida a estos mundos imaginados.

Jeff Zorrilla nació en 1984 en Estados Unidos. Estudió cine en las universidades de Santa Cruz (California, EEUU) y Copenhague (Dinamarca). Actualmente vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dirigió numerosos cortos en Super 8 y los largometrajes documentales Monguer y Diarios del encierro. Lick Fire es su primer corto realizado con inteligencia artificial.
5- Río, de Matías Herrera Córdoba (2023, 16:17 minutos).
Ale vive con su madre en las sierras de Córdoba, Argentina. Su única amiga en el pueblo es Diana, una chica trans de 40 años. Ale se ilusiona chateando en una app de citas con un hombre que le lleva más de 20 años ¿Es el amigo de su madre? Crecer nunca deja de ser doloroso y placentero.

En el 2009 finaliza su primer documental CRIADA y lo estrena en festivales internacionales, llegando al MOMA, New York. Codirige el documental “Buen Pastor una fuga de mujeres” y en 2013 estrena “El grillo”, un ensayo ficcional. Con experiencia en asistencia de dirección y en desarrollo de proyectos en el 2023 se radica en Madrid, España.
