Por pedido de justicia para el periodista argentino asesinado en Bolivia – Funciones, debate con referentes en seis ciudades. Por Nito Marsiglio.
La directora y guionista María Laura Cali, acompañada por el productor general por Barakacine y coguionista, Marcelo Schapces, culminaron una gira solidaria de funciones del documental Sebastián Moro, el caminante, organizada por la Agrupación Wiphalas por el mundo – Wiphalas across the world, una entidad que surge a partir del golpe de Estado en Bolivia en 2019 intentando dar apoyo y visibilidad a la vulneración de los DDHH, y además generar redes para dar significado al proceso de cambio en Bolivia.
La gira se realizó recientemente, durante enero y febrero en París, Londres, el Parlamento Europeo en Bruselas, Ginebra, La Haya y Madrid, y cada presentación del documental fue acompañada de un debate posterior con la participación de distintas personalidades, líderes locales, periodistas y parlamentarios, entre ellos Jeremy Corbyn (histórico líder del Partido Laborista inglés); Stella Assange (esposa del periodista Julian Assange, encarcelado en Londres desde hace 11 años), Manu Pineda (diputado español por Izquierda Unida en el Parlamento europeo), Genevive Garrigos (concejala de París y ex presidenta de Amnesty International France); y Maurice Lemoine (ex director de Le Monde Diplomatique).
El documental, coproducción entre Argentina (Barakacine y Buda Casa Productora) y Bolivia (Fundación Grupo Ukamau) fue estrenado en 2023 y recibió varios premios y reconocimientos. El film narra los últimos dias del periodista mendocino Sebastián Moro asesinado en los inicios del golpe de Estado en Bolivia en noviembre de 2019.
En las funciones se valoró el film y se destacó la tarea como periodista comunitario de Sebastián Moro así como también su compromiso con la verdad. También se planteó la preocupación por la situación de los periodistas que se ven sometidos a la censura, a la violencia y hasta a la muerte, por el solo hecho de permanecer informando en situaciones adversas, como viene ocurriendo en muchos países de América Latina, y también hoy, en la franja de Gaza.
Durante los debates, uno de los temas recurrentes refirió al momento que atraviesa la Argentina donde, tras cumplirse 40 años de democracia desde el final de la última dictadura, la represión de parte de las fuerzas de seguridad a manifestantes y especialmente a periodistas, fotógrafos y camarógrafos, se hizo presente de manera notoria mientras se trataba la Ley Ómnibus en el Congreso Nacional, ley que finalmente no se votó. Se afirmó que se trató de un hostigamiento planificado que recuerda las jornadas previas y posteriores al golpe en Bolivia, cuando uno de los objetivos principales fue evitar que la prensa independiente informase, llevando adelante una campaña de fake news a través de redes, con trolls dirigidos por los golpistas.
La directora y el productor califican a la gira como altamente positiva. Recientemente, la familia ha sido informada que la justicia en Bolivia ha reconocido finalmente a Sebastián como “víctima del golpe”, por lo que pasa a ser una causa de lesa humanidad.
El documental “Sebastián Moro, el caminante” cumple con su cometido artístico y político de seguir echando luz sobre una vida enfrentada a su destino trágico, en el contexto de la realidad social latinoamericana. Una realidad urgente en la que la cultura juega su batalla más importante para preservar la identidad soberana de los pueblos.
Días atrás la película ha quedado pre seleccionado por Bolivia en primera fase para los prestigiosos premios del cine Iberoamericano, Platino 2024 en el rubro Mejor Documental.
