El Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA) y el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata presentan el ciclo Camino al Festival, un adelanto de la 38ª edición. En ese marco se exhibirá una selección francesa de Cine y Cómics, cuya amplia programación explora las relaciones entre ambas artes, anticipando uno de los focos que tendrá el Festival este año. Las proyecciones se realizarán del 13 al 23 de julio en la Sala Leonardo Favio del Cine Gaumont a las 19:15 horas, con entrada gratuita, y en varios puntos del país. En la ciudad de Mar del Plata, el ciclo comenzará el domingo 30 en el Espacio INCAA Chauvin, a las 15 horas. Por Nito Marsiglio.
El universo que abarca la historieta –o cómic– es tan amplio como el del cine; propone infinidad de formatos, extensiones, escuelas formales y narrativas, tal como lo demuestra esta selección, que incluye películas dirigidas por grandes artistas gráficos como Lorenzo Mattotti, Sylvain Chomet, Aurel y Benjamin Renner.
Entre las producciones elegidas en formato de animación se encuentran la multipremiada Las trillizas de Belleville, de Sylvain Chomet –ganadora a Mejor película de habla no inglesa por Boston Society Film Critics (BSFC) y nominada para los Premios Oscar en las categorías de Mejor Película de animación y Mejor Canción original en 2004–; Josep, de Aurélien Froment –más conocido como Aurel–, basada en la novela homónima de su autoría y acreedora del César a la Mejor Película animada en 2021; el cortometraje de 2022 Akissi: un hermanito divertido, de Alexandre Coste, que se proyectará en programa doble junto con Renard, el zorro malvado, de Patrick Imbert y Benjamin Renner –también conocido bajo el pseudónimo de Reineke–, producción de 2017 basada en los cómics Le grand méchant Renard y Un bébé à livrer, del propio Renner; y La famosa invasión de los osos a Sicilia, del genial artista gráfico italiano Lorenzo Mattotti –adaptación del libro infantil de Dino Buzzati–, que en 2019 recorrió los Festival de Cannes, Annecy y Mar del Plata, entre otros.
A la selección se suman la ganadora en 2013 a Mejor guion original en el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián, Crónicas diplomáticas (Quai d’Orsay), de Bertrand Tavernier, que toma el cómic homónimo de Christophe Blain y Abel Lanzac; Las aventuras de Sophie, de Christophe Honoré, última adaptación cinematográfica de la novela de 1858 de la Condesa de Ségur, producida en 2015; y Solos, de David Moreau, película de 2016 que parte de la serie de aventuras juveniles de Fabien Vehlmann con ilustraciones de Bruno Gazzotti, para la revista Spirou.
En la ciudad de Mar del Plata, Camino al Festival se llevará a cabo en el Espacio INCAA Chauvin, desde el 30 de julio, todos los domingos a las 15 horas. Inicia con la proyección de Solos.
El ciclo también se proyectará, completo o en partes, en varios Espacios INCAA del país: Gálvez (Santa Fe), Cine Teatro Oberá (Misiones), Centro Cultural Cotesma (San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén), Cine Gregorio de Laferrere (Morón, Buenos Aires), Rauch (Buenos Aires), Juan Carlos Thorry (Coronel Pringles, Buenos Aires), Espacio 73 (La Rioja), Cine Teatro Sociedad Italiana (Maipú, Mendoza); así como también en diversas salas, entre ellas: Cine Universidad UNCUYO (Mendoza) y Cine Club El Cairo (Rosario, Santa Fe), en distintas fechas y horarios.
Todas las películas serán exhibidas en su idioma original, con subtítulos en castellano.
Camino al Festival se realiza con el apoyo de la Embajada de Francia en Argentina y el Instituto francés de Argentina.
El Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata, que este año se desarrollará del 2 al 12 de noviembre, se encuentra entre los quince festivales del mundo calificados como “Clase A” por la Federación Internacional de Asociaciones de Productores Cinematográficos (FIAPF), categoría que comparte, entre otros, con Cannes, Venecia y San Sebastián, además de ser el único en su clase en Latinoamérica.
